COCONUT'S BIRTHDAY

Woo hoo... I know everyone is waiting for me to post this up right??? Actually wanted to post it a few days ago but the stupid blog got bug. So i can't upload any pictures. Finally, the pictures and videos are all up now. Took me quite a while to blog this cos we REALLY took a lot of videos this time. Then my pc became super laggy while blogging. Lolz~ Anyway, enjoy!!!

Was wandering aimlessly around Far East Square while trying to locate our makan place. Then we happened to chance upon this chinese museum. Rong felt that it was a "historical moment" and decided to take a picture as a remembrance. Hoping for everything to be 一帆风顺 maybe? Ha...

Finally we found our makan place - 'Zhou's Kitchen'

"Pau" family. Hee...

Realized i forgot to take any pictures of the food cos i was too hungry that day. Ha...

The most 低调 place we can find as requested by Coconut. Look at the emptiness of this place! Perfect!!! Are you touched by our effort, Coconut? Ha...

***************WARNING***********

Before you proceed, make sure that you are not working in the office while watching the videos. You should also stop eating/drinking immediately if you are doing that right now. Any choking hazard, loss of job or bodily harm caused by the effect of watching the videos below shall not be the responsibility of the person who started this post. If need to be, you can prepare some tissues to standby and wipe your tears. Don't say you have never been warned!!!!

And so the fun begins...

Nice picture, nice background and most importantly, nice people :)

*P/S to Coconut:
Hope the flowers managed to add the finishing touch to your 低调 celebration. Haha...

Bakerznutz

Remember the pineapple tarts u nutz and pauz ate on pau's birthday? (The fruits of peanut and donut's labour!!) The following photos were taken during our first (and only) lesson to learn to make pineapple tarts. Guess we are very talented and we have a very good teacher!

This is the finished product!

These two containers were brought to Donut's office for her colleagues. so nice of her :)

This is the last batch of pineapple tarts where we used up the pineapple filling and also used the leftover dough to make some random shaped cookies. See the donut shaped one (first row, 2nd from the left!) and the peanut shaped one beside it :) cool rite?

Signature peanut icon. (from the leftover dough) the one on the right by rite shoul be a heart. (but kind of look like the bottom of a bikini to me now. wahahaha.)

LELONG LELONG!!!

Yo gals! Had fun at the recent flea market? Ho ho...

Anyway, just wanna thank our organiser, groundnut, for introducing this cheap cheap lobang. And also thanks to her cousin for fetching us there.

Again, i have a few reflections to share after the experience at the flea market:

1. My god! This one is ultimate. This is the first time in my whole life that i saw the most "auntie side" from our Ms Groundnut. Don't tell me this is her real personality??? O.o"'

2. At the flea market, one man's trash could be another man's treasure. This was proven when a little boy actually bought an Elle bag, which appeared to be used by groundnut for more than 1000 times because the colour is obviously faded and looks worn out. It is a miracle that someone actually LOVES and BOUGHT that bag.

3. Bargaining is human nature, even when things are dirt cheap.

4. People generally are unwilling to spend more than 5 bucks per item there. Anything above that, they won't even bother to take a second look.

5. Flea market is a favourite hunting place for banglas, maids, PRCs, chinese and malay aunties, maybe children too (help to psycho the latter).

6. Sales is highly dependent on the weather, especially when it is an open space area. Hence a lot of luck is needed here.

7. People generally have the impression that flea market = used and old stocks, which is totally not true.

8. Do not underestimate the power of $0.50-$2 item. They can add up to be a significant amount.

9. The more display area and varieties you have, the better (quite obvious isn't it). We probably would have even better response if we have men's stuff as well.

10. Selling stuff at the flea market is tiring. Hence, it can be use as a form of exercise because your whole body will ache the next day.

Alright, guess that roughly sums up my experience at this flea market. Actually was quite glad that it did not rain heavily that day. Otherwise, not only will we have zero sales, we also have to lug everything back. And i think it was really a successful flea market session for us. Still find it hard to believe we earned a total profit of $171.50. Haha... Next time if we earn more profits, maybe we can also have a crab feast just like the uncle we saw at the coffee shop. Each person order 1 crab! Shiok!!! Wahahaa...
