PRAWNING AT LAKESIDE FISHING VILLAGE

Here we go again!!!

One sunny afternoon, 4 rookies who knows nuts (pun unintended) about prawning decided to give it a try for the first time in their life. Just like a group of excited little girls who chanced upon a new playground, talks about how, where and what they will be doing with it were naturally being discussed. Little do they know what awaits them...

Our "new playground" - Lakeside Fishing Village

Apparently, the whole place is divided into 2 parts. 3/4 of the area is allocated for fishing (forgot to capture a pic of it) while at the other corner, a section of it is allocated for prawning. The charge for prawning is $14/hr. We decided to take up the package of buy 2 get 1 free (3hours) for 28 bucks per rod.

The bait - Not sure what is it. Haha

The other prawn-ers patiently waiting for their big catch...

Me happily waiting for our "big catch" as well

And then 2 hours passed and we are still kosong... -_-"'

Notice the bald head guy standing in the middle of the platform? He's amazing man! We were sitting there, praying for a miracle from our rod and yet that guy there was like catching 1 prawn every 2-3 mins!? Arrgh!!! Make us even more jealous! Some other guy, apparently witnessing the same thing as us, even went over near that spot to try his luck. But nope, he caught nothing. So there must be some techniques involved.

Donut ended up wearing Groundnut's cap because the flies (or whatever it is) seem to be attracted to her hair. Haha..

Trying to act happy even though we caught nothing yet.

Just when all hopes seem lost, we received help from a little girl. No, this is not a typo error. It's a little girl around 8-9 years old probably? In fact, she is in the picture above wearing a pink top. Probably puzzled or already cannot tahan how we can't even catch a single prawn, she decided to give us a helping hand. She really put us to shame. Haha...

First, she took out some kinda ball bearings to measure the depth of the water, then adjust the float to the correct height. After that, she changed our hook to a bigger hook brought by her uncle. Next, She informed me that our baits are too big and she proceeded to cut it into smaller pieces. No wonder we spent 2 hours there and caught nothing! Then we tried again. Apparently, it worked a little cos there was tension, meaning there was prawn at the other end, probably nibbling away at the bait. And she even knew that! Really pro! But still, no success because i was not skillful enough to hook it up at the right moment. Sigh... She decided to increase our chance by cutting up a worm O_o for our bait. Speechless... And with further tips from her, we finally caught one, just before times up!!! Wahahaaa... Consolation prize! The little gal even wanted to donate us some of her prawns out of kindness. So nice~ But we rejected her kind offer though.

Our "consolation prize" Wahahaha...

Close up of the "unlucky prawn". Lolz...
