Yo gals! Had fun at the recent flea market? Ho ho...
Anyway, just wanna thank our organiser, groundnut, for introducing this cheap cheap lobang. And also thanks to her cousin for fetching us there.
Again, i have a few reflections to share after the experience at the flea market:
1. My god! This one is ultimate. This is the first time in my whole life that i saw the most "auntie side" from our Ms Groundnut. Don't tell me this is her real personality??? O.o"'
2. At the flea market, one man's trash could be another man's treasure. This was proven when a little boy actually bought an
Elle bag, which appeared to be used by groundnut for more than 1000 times because the colour is obviously faded and looks worn out. It is a miracle that someone actually LOVES and BOUGHT that bag.
3. Bargaining is human nature, even when things are dirt cheap.
4. People generally are unwilling to spend more than 5 bucks per item there. Anything above that, they won't even bother to take a second look.
5. Flea market is a favourite hunting place for banglas, maids, PRCs, chinese and malay aunties, maybe children too (help to psycho the latter).
6. Sales is highly dependent on the weather, especially when it is an open space area. Hence a lot of luck is needed here.
7. People generally have the impression that flea market = used and old stocks, which is totally not true.
8. Do not underestimate the power of $0.50-$2 item. They can add up to be a significant amount.
9. The more display area and varieties you have, the better (quite obvious isn't it). We probably would have even better response if we have men's stuff as well.
10. Selling stuff at the flea market is tiring. Hence, it can be use as a form of exercise because your whole body will ache the next day.
Alright, guess that roughly sums up my experience at this flea market. Actually was quite glad that it did not rain heavily that day. Otherwise, not only will we have zero sales, we also have to lug everything back. And i think it was really a successful flea market session for us. Still find it hard to believe we earned a total profit of $171.50. Haha... Next time if we earn more profits, maybe we can also have a crab feast just like the uncle we saw at the coffee shop. Each person order 1 crab! Shiok!!! Wahahaa...
